Mafia Island

The small archipelago of Mafia consists of one large island and several smaller ones.  Located to the South of Zanzibar, with fewer visitors the islands have a much more relaxed atmosphere than in Zanzibar.  The perfect place for diving, snorkeling, fishing, and enjoying the beautiful beaches and warm currents of the Indian Ocean. 

With only a few hotels on Mafia, visitors have not yet overrun the Islands.  The Mafia Island Marine Park and the Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve protect a large portion of the island from development, and hopefully prevent the islands from becoming a second Zanzibar.
